"Tekken 7" cross-platform play has long been requested by gamers worldwide. However, Game Director Katsuhiro Harada has once again underlined the impracticability of the idea.

Many "Tekken" fans are still badgering about the game's lack of cross-platform play. Gamers would like to play along with others in a PC format. However, neither Sony nor Microsoft have approved for their consoles to be in the same P2P system to the other, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

Although Microsoft's Xbox One has opened up for a cross-platform play with PlayStation, PC cross-platform play for "Tekken 7" remains elusive. "Tekken's" chief producer and director Harada has constantly been reminding gamers and enthusiasts about why it would not work.

"It's not a matter of the technology for getting the PS4/Xbox One/PC players to match up against each other being the issue, but rather first party company policies and potential security risks. [That's] alongside the community perceived reputation of PC gamers being cheaters that are hindering the decision to allow cross-platform play." PC GamesN quoted Harada as saying.

This line of reasoning coming from the game director was quickly criticized online. Some gamers believed that such move is not aimed at players, but rather a business strategy.

Meanwhile, another update might arrive for "Tekken" with a major surprise. Based on a separate report, the game's DLC may include Lei Wulong, Anna Williams, Julia Chang, Zafina, and Eddy Gordo.

These upcoming releases and updates may be interpreted as the game developer's method of increasing engagement without the need of venturing into the highly demanded "Tekken 7" cross-platform play.
