Samsung has made a new tablet called the Galaxy Book which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2017 where the South Korean tech giant showed off two variants of the device, measuring 10.6 inches and 12 inches. Both models will come with an S Pen stylus with a detachable keyboard cover.

The Samsung Galaxy Book boasts of a Super AMOLED display with 2,160 x 1,440 pixels resolution while the 10.6-inch Galaxy Book features a Full HD TFT display. The Galaxy Book comes with an Intel Kaby Lake Core i5 chipset clocked at 3.1 GHz and features 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, depending on the model.

The storage is also expandable to 256 GB as well. The device name suggests that it is a hybrid and as a 2-in-1, it is similar to the Lenovo Yoga Book when it comes to design. The Galaxy Book features a neat form factor regardless whether it is used as a detachable 2-in-1 or it will simply flip and fold. It features a slim body of 7.4 mm.

The Galaxy TabPro S came with a keyboard cover which could be attached to the device like the Apple Smart Keyboard, and the Galaxy Book is pretty the same.

The Samsung Galaxy Book supports HDR which ensures superior quality images and videos. It comes with a 13 megapixels rear camera and five megapixels front-facing snapper. Both variants will support two USB-Type C ports and LTE connectivity with 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. The Quick Charge feature is also included in the Galaxy Book.

The Samsung Galaxy Book will run on Windows 10 as seen on the Windows App Store. Samsung has already started raising hype for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 tablet, and the new Galaxy Book makes the company's line-up this year even more exciting. Galaxy devices usually run Android, and the Samsung ATIV is reserved for Windows, so this new device comes as a surprise.

With these specs, the Samsung Galaxy Book seems ready to compete with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 or the upcoming Surface Pro 5. Its advantage is the detachable keyboard which Surface Pro 4 users have to buy separately. However, details about the price and availability of the Galaxy Book is still unknown yet.
