Tekken 7 is a fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment as the ninth installment in the Tekken series.

New details for "Tekken 7" will feature more guest characters, online matchmaking system and possible launch date for the PlayStation 4 in the later part of 2016.

Game Designer Michael Murray teased that "Tekken 7" will feature an online matchmaking system for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles similar to the once found in the arcades allowing gamers to "get out of their own store and compete with someone on another location".

With this feature gamers can play and fight everyone in the globe online as Murray told Gamesradar that the interest is very much there and that is something that Bandai Namco's subsidary is asking about, but they are still exploring the technicalities of the feature in order to make it work online.

Sony will likely allow this kind of feature for "Tekken 7" given that online matchmaking is also present in several upcoming games such as Capcom's "Street Fighter 5" and NetherRealm Studios' "Mortal Kombat X". Murray added that he is also worried about the unsportsmanlike manner of several gamers which will likely upset the system's balance.

In othe news its seems that "Tekken 7's" launch date could happen in the later part of 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Bandai Namco is currently preparing to launch the update version of the sequel titled "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" as the schedules for its arcade test is set on Feb. 12-14 in several Japanese arcades such as Osaka’s Round One Stadium Sennichimae Arcade, Tokyo’s Namco Sugamo and Namco’s Hakata Bus Terminal Arcade in Fukuoka.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will also feature the "Street Fighter" character Akuma, but it is unknown yet if he will be a playable fighter in the new arcade test. Murray and the game director Katsuhiro Harada originally did not like having guest characters in "Tekken 7, thinking that it will change its continuity, but Murray stated that Akuma "fits the bill" in the story as he has some connection with the game's final boss Kazumi Mishima.

Murray added that Akuma is only guest character they have for "Fated Retribution", but they are still open with the idea of other crossover fighters in the future, PlayStation Lifestyle.

"Tekken 7" will launch sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as rumors that a PC version could be in the works soon.
