Porsche revealed on Friday the 2018 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which is set to make its debut on the Geneva motor show next month.

While previous release of Porsche's hybrid models were based on less powerful V6-engined cars, the new Panamera combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with a single electric power to deliver a staggering 680 hp and 626 pound-feet of torque. Its 62mph sprint just takes 3.4 seconds and that will keep pulling all the way to a top speed of 192 mph.

Aside from its immense power, Porsche's 2018 Panamera boasts for being incredibly efficient. A 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery will allow 50 km (31 miles) of all-electric running using the E-Power mode. But at certain instance, like battery charge is running low, the car automatically switches to hybrid mode (Hybrid auto), in which the engine starts to kick in. When the electric motor and turbocharged V8 work together, it offers a fuel economy of 2.9 liters/100 km.

It has an eight-speed dual clutch unit, and drive is designed to all four wheels. A decoupler system is also electromechanically actuated by an electric clutch actuator, depending on the driving mode, according to Motor Authority. Porsche also committed a quick throttle response and absence of turbo-lag as the electric engine plugs gaps in the torque band while the turbines are spooling up.

Battery charging could take six hours with the 3.6 kW onboard charger. Charging time could however be lessen to just two-and-a-half if the 7.2 kW plug is used. Owners can also tell the car to start or stop charging via the Porsche Connect App.

Other than those, there isn't much for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid could offer. Its cabin is relatively the same from the rest of the range. The regular model for the 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid starts at around $196,200, while the long wheel-base Executive costs $210,400.
