BlackBerry is not one of the top smartphone manufacturers right now but it still has loyal customers and new fans who want to use a physical QWERTY keyboard. The BlackBerry Priv has been widely accepted not only because of its unique QWERTY keyboard but also because of its top of the line specs.

BlackBerry fans are excited for the upcoming BlackBerry Mercury which will come with a metal build and a carbon fiber rear panel. The QWERTY keyboard remains on the front below a 4.5-inch Quad HD display. The teaser also confirms that the handset will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The BlackBerry Mercury is expected to sport an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 506 GPU.

The BlackBerry Mercury is also said to come with an 18 MP rear camera and 8 MP front snapper. It will likely use the same award-winning sensors in the Google Pixel smartphones and have 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage with an additional microSD expansion slot. The BlackBerry Mercury fingerprint scanner is embedded in the keyboard's space key, and it is speculated to pack a huge 3,400 mAh non-removable battery. A USD Type-C port for data transfer and charging is expected as well. The BlackBerry Mercury will likely be offered by all major carriers in the U.S., but according to reports, it will first come to Verizon, possibly giving it exclusive rights to the device.
