"Pokemon Stars" is the third version of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and it is expected to be available on the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

A cutscene from "Pokemon Sun and Moon" proves that the upcoming version truly exists. A new mainline of the Pokemon game is reportedly under development for Nintendo Switch, and it is likely to be released for the hybrid console in 2018 with "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Lego City Undercover" and other games. "Pokemon Star" is expected to come with the same map, art from 3DS games, and locales with visual improvements.

"Pokemon Stars" is said to feature a higher-resolution and distinct game elements. The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" teaser, which was launched in February 2016, showed a look at the studio where a lot of concept art shots were revealed. It also showed a high-definition Pikipek which will likely appear in "Pokemon Stars."

A Redditor named ronnknee demonstrated how to prompt a cutscene which hints at the upcoming "Pokemon Star" game. It involves an old man standing in the Hainan Desert where players can stimulate the scene by showing a Lunatone or Solrock to the man. Neither Pokemon is an Alola native. Players must also transmit them to the tropical region using the Pokemon Bank. Memories will then flash back to the man, and he will mention "star pulses" which were given to him three decades ago. He would offer the Moonstone to the player and teleports into space after that.

In other news, a tweet from Nicalis also appears to be a teaser for new Switch games. "The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+" has been confirmed at the launch but not Nicalis classics like "Cave Story" and "1001 Spikes." However, these games were spotted with Afterbirth+ in the leaked home menu picture. "Isaac was lonely, so we brought a few friends to keep him company," Nicalis tweeted.

Several new gaming consoles were launched in 2016, but the Nintendo Switch has been the most popular despite its polarized audiences. The hybrid console was revealed in October 2016, and many think that it could attract Nintendo's first-party market and other gamers who are also PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners. However, a former Ubisoft employee said that the upcoming Nintendo Switch might not come with enough processing power to support current-generation game ports and it could pose a problem for third-party developers. According to Sebastian Aaltonen, "Straightforward code port is not possible" on the Switch.

When the Nintendo Switch is used at home, its component slots connect to a TV set. Games come on small cartridges, and about 80 games are currently in development, including a new Mario game called "Super Mario Odyssey" which will be released late in 2017. Another new title unveiled is a motion-controlled boxing game called "Arms," which will be out this Spring.
