When "Overwatch" came out last year, a lot of players voiced complaints about Bastion being too overpowered. The game's succeeding patches and balance tweaks have affected almost the entire cast except for the walking weapon. Except for a few metagame strategies, the character has reportedly been delegated as the lowest performer in both pick and victory rates. Thus, Blizzard Entertainment has hinted at balance changes coming soon for the character.

"Overwatch" principal designer Geoff Goodman communicated to fans through Blizzard Entertainment's official forum. He revealed some upcoming buffs for Bastion and the possibility of a new PTR reflecting the changes soon. The changes will affect the robot's Recon mode, where the hero can move around. Bullet spread has been reduced, while magazine size will also be increased, Game Rant reported.

During the hero's stationary sentry mode, he announced that a couple of tweaks are being considered. These are headshot removal, increased bullet spread, and reduced damage while the mode is active. Additionally, the repair ability will apparently be getting a major upgrade. The upgrade allows the robot to move around while repairing itself and attacks will no longer interrupt the process. The only downside is the repair ability's change into a resource based skill like D.Va's Defense Matrix.

The repair mode upgrade will hopefully make the walking weapon more independent from healers. Meanwhile, other characters like Symmetra and Torbjorn will reportedly be receiving tweaks as well. Not including the character balance changes, the game is also expected to receive a reporting feature for console versions. These changes do not have a definite release date or PTR schedule as of writing.

According to Video Game Republic, the upcoming changes detailed in the article are being internally tested by Blizzard Entertainment. "Overwatch" is reportedly preparing for another special event this February. There are speculations that Bastion and other characters might receive the balance changes and upgrades at the same time.
