WhatsApp will soon roll out a new update that will allow users to recall sent text messages, helping people avoid panic when accidentally sending wrong texts.

The company is reportedly working on a feature to edit and revoke WhatsApp messages that have not been opened. When users click the Revoke option for sent messages, the texts will be recalled and deleted from both ends. The feature will also be available for photos and videos.

The specific release date is not clear yet, as the features are still to be included in the beta versions before given a full consumer launch.

Other than the much awaited delete function, WhatsApp is also allegedly working on another update that will allow users to track their friends' location in real time. Dubbed Live Location, the update is yet to be released to the public, although it has already been spotted on the beta versions both for iOS and Android. The feature has been disabled by default but can be enabled manually. However, it is interesting to see how WhatsApp will pull off the live location feature, with considerations on users' privacy concerns.

Another update on the pipeline is the Status tab that will notify WhatsApp users for changes on the status of their contacts, WABetaInfo, a feature leaker, revealed. The tab will reportedly be inserted between the chats and calls tabs from WhatsApp current interface.

Aside from the status change notification, WhatsApp will also display low battery warnings for users during WhatsApp calls.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp recently released a new update that allows iPhone users to queue up messages if they are experiencing poor or no internet connections. Before, users are unable to click the send button as it would become unavailable until an active or strong connection has been detected. The update, however, has already been available for Android for quite some time now.
