Samsung has finally rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge owners around the world.

Owners of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones locked with U.S. networks such as T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T are excited to know when they will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade as well. After several false alarms and confusion about build versions, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is on its way to these four major networks.

AT&T has offered a guide to the release date for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Android 7.0 Nougat update on its network. A customer service rep said that the update would arrive in early Spring after final testing. Meanwhile, Verizon has stopped the Android 7.0 Nougat beta testing program for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on its network but rest assured the participants will receive the update in early 2017 when the final build is available. Verizon has not provided a specific release date, and no further details have been announced since.

T-Mobile, on the other hand, has the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge still listed in "Manufacturer Development" on its official software upgrade page. It is the first of three steps in T-Mobile's software upgrade process, and it only confirms that no Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade release is near. Users would have to wait until the devices move to "Carrier Testing," that is the time the release will be imminent. Lastly, Sprint has not issued any statement about the expected timeline for the release of Android 7.0 Nougat on its network yet.

The Android Nougat will bring new features to devices, fix bugs and issues, and improve overall performance. It is said to bring a tweaked user interface with instant control toggles and space-efficient notifications. It comes with a quick switch and multi-window for excellent multitasking. There is a quick reply feature and notification bundling for a less cluttered control panel shade.
