Prior to LG's confirmation of its MWC event, rumors about the LG G5 have already stirred several tech forums and websites. It is believed that the flagship device will sport a detachable battery, a feature that is missing in most high-end devices nowadays.

Most recently, a render believed to be that of the LG G5 have found its way on several websites. A close look at the leaked renders show that the upcoming LG flagship device sports a new design. Rumors also claim that the device will sport an all-metal chassis.

Based on the renders, LG is moving the volume buttons from the back of the device and move it on the left side. It appears that the power button and the camera still are in their proper place. The only addition is the fingerprint scanner which is situated below the camera.

The LG G5 is expected to measure 149.4mm x 73.9mm x 8.2mm.

According to Ubergizmo, the LG G5 has a 5.5-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution. At its heart is the Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm. Memory is currently believed to be 3GB but there is always the possibility that LG could upgrade it to 4GB. Additional specs include USB-Type C support and the removable battery.

In the camera aspect, the LG G5 is believed to sport a 20-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera, according to Android Authority.

When LG released the G4, it was widely praised for its top of the line specs. The company closely followed it with the premium LG V10, although it was only released in selected markets. If all the leaks and rumors are true, LG is in good standing. Many analysts believe that should LG continue the trend, it will not be long until it topples the current market leader Samsung.
