The Coolpad Conjr smartphone has been introduced for only $180 (around Rs. 12,200).

The Coolpad Conjr is the latest affordable smartphone from the Chinese mobile company Coolpad with some high-end specifications. It is made of a metal body, and It has a 5-inch high-definition IPS LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, 2.5D glass, and a 70.6 percent screen-to-body ratio on board.

The Coolpad Conjr is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP (Cortex A-53) chipset clocked at a speed of 1.0 GHz. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box with the company's Cool UI 8.0 skin.

The Coolpad Conjr comes with 3GB of RAM and16GB of built-in memory that can be further expanded up to a maximum of 64GB via a microSD card slot. It is packed with a 2500 mAh battery on the back to provide nine hours of talk time on 3G. It is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the rear.

The Coolpad Conjr features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with optical image stabilization accompanied with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Both cameras are capable of taking 720p videos with LED flash and an aperture of f/2.2 on board.

The Coolpad Conjr is a dual SIM variant with Hybrid SIM slot (second SIM slot) and supports 4G LTE connectivity at 150 Mbps. It offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and WLAN 802.11 b/g/n.

The Coolpad Conjr is available in gold and iron gray color. It is expected to compete against devices such as Xiaomi Note 3, Swipe Elite Plus, Lenovo Vibe K5, and among others.

There is still no launch date for the device, but Coolpad Conjr will be working with GSM carriers in the U.S and will be sold unlocked and off-contract. Pre-orders for the device have already opened on Newegg and Amazon.
