There are several rumors about the successors to Google's Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, which may be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

Many believe that HTC did not land the deal to manufacture the 2017 Pixel line of smartphones. However, there are contradictory reports that Google will maintain its strategic partnership with the company for the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2.

Tech experts have predicted that the Pixel XL 2 and Pixel 2 will get a revamped design along with the anticipated 2K display.

The Pixel 2 is expected to come with a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 QHD. Google is also likely to improve the battery of the next-gen Pixel phones so that it performs better with less battery drainage issues.

The two upcoming Pixel smartphones could each be fitted with 6 GB of RAM and a dual camera set-up. They could also feature tri-camera technology and OIS support for clearer pictures. The Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 may feature support for the second gen Daydream VR as well as water/dust resistance capabilities.

The smartphone also comes with a 12 megapixels rear camera with an 8 megapixels selfie snapper as well as a 3540 mAh battery unit with USB Type-C charging support.
