The Microsoft Surface line-up has been a success, and there is much excitement about the Microsoft Surface Phone and Surface Book 2 which are likely to be released this year.

There are rumors that the basic version of the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 will come with 4 GB of RAM while the premium model will feature 8 GB of RAM. The specs of the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 20 megapixels Carl Zeiss rear camera, proximity sensor, compass, fingerprint scanner, and a barometer. A fingerprint scanner is reportedly embedded on its display as well. Microsoft is expected to fit the Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 with the Surface Phone 2017 out of the box.

The Surface Phone may be pitted against the Apple iPhone. It is designed for tech enthusiasts and business people. There are rumors that the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 would be able to run both Android and iOS apps on Windows 10 with minimal coding, also known as Bridge Solution. Leaked photos have revealed that the smartphone has single grille speakers with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port as well.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has cut the price of the Surface Book by $150 USD. From $2,699 USD, it now costs only $2,550 USD. This could be a sign that the company is about to release its successor.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 may come with the newly launched 7th gen Intel Kaby processors. There are speculations that the upcoming laptop will come with a 13.5-inch display with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution which supports 4K videos. It could also support VR systems, but no specific details are available at the moment to make such claims credible.

There are rumors that Microsoft could release the Surface Phone and Surface Book 2 in February 2017. There are also talks that the Redmond tech giant is likely to unveil all its highly-awaited devices at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event next month. Some Microsoft devices were reportedly ready for release by December last year, but their release was delayed because the company decided to wait for the new Intel Kaby Lake processors.
