Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has taken everyone by surprise at it recently announced that it is unveiling the official Android Nougat 7.0 based OxygenOS for users of OnePlus 3 and 3T before the end of 2016.

The news came from Carl Peri, the co-founder of OnePlus. The update was preceded by the release of OxygenOS Beta Open three days before OxygenOS' launch. As far as the features of the new product are concerned, the extended screenshots option has not been included in the OxygenOS 4.0.

It is believed that the extended screenshots might be added in a later model which might include the January Google security bulletin patch. Users of OnePlus were taken aback by this surprise announcement. According to First Post, the release was not supposed to be this early. However, it sure was a pleasant surprise for the customers.

The changes introduced in the new manufacture include the upgrading to Android 7.0 Nougat, new notifications design and the option for direct reply, as well as custom DPI support. Along with that, the view of the multi-window and the design for the setting menu have also been altered. Some modifications were seen in the shelf customization as well, and a new status bar icon has been added, according to Android Police.

The reason this has come as a great surprise is that almost all other tech giants and smartphone producing companies never disclose much about their upcoming products and keep building up the hype, but OnePlus has set a new precedent. The company also reported that its employees were not taking a break for the New Year or the holidays in order to work harder on the new launch.
