The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 are one of the most awaited smartphones this coming new year and fans would be excited to know that the devices could come with foldable screens.

After the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung has had to work hard to come up with something remarkable for its next flagship devices. Rumor has it that Samsung will soon launch two Galaxy S8 models: one with a 2K 5.7-inch display and another with a 6.2-inch 4K screen called Galaxy S8 Plus. Both smartphones are expected to feature curved Super AMOLED displays but with no edge branding this time. The resolution is speculated to be at 3,840 x 2,160 with a pixel density of 806 pixels per inch (ppi). Samsung could also remove the headphone jack from the upcoming phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to offer a 27 percent performance increase and 40 percent power consumption decrease. It is said to sport an Exynos 8895 with ARM's new Mali-G71 for its GPU or the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor. The phones will certainly feature an increased RAM for better virtual reality support.

The Galaxy S8 is also expected to have its own intelligent AI assistant called Viv. It could also feature a touch-based power button and wireless charging technology. The Galaxy S8 is likely to use the 10nm chips with the VR technology as well.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus could be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2017 on Feb. 27 in Barcelona, Spain.
