Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Update Straight to Android 7.1.1; S6 and Note Smartphones to Get Latest Android OS as Well

Those who own a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge can expect to get the newest Android 7.1.1 Nougat version as soon as Samsung releases it. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 are expected to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in 2017.

Android is usually plagued with OS problems during updates. Nexus phones and tablets have been very popular because of its guaranteed timely updates. The privilege has extended to the new Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and Pixel C tablet as well.

Despite the recent Note 7 debacle, Samsung remains the top manufacturer and seller of Android handsets all over the world.

According to YouMobile, the list of confirmed Samsung devices which will get the Android 7 Nougat update include the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5 and even the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung has launched a Galaxy Beta Program as well.

A list has come out showing which Samsung smartphones will receive the upcoming Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. It includes the Samsung flagship S and Note devices, as well as the Edge variant.

The Android Nougat will bring new features to devices, fix bugs and issues, and improve overall performance. It is also expected to bring a tweaked UI with instant control toggles and space-efficient notifications. It comes with a quick switch and multi-window for excellent multitasking. Android Nougat will also adopt the Vulkan API support which improves gaming and VR quality.
