The Oppo A57 smartphone has been launched in China at around $233.

On Sunday, Oppo announced the availability of its newest smartphone - the Oppo A57 - in China. The affordable device from the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be available for purchase starting from December 12. However, the company did not reveal the launch dates of its latest smartphone in other markets.

Oppo A57, which was certified by China' national telecommunication certification agency (TENAA) in October, is similar to the company's popular flagship models Oppo F1 Plus and Oppo F1s. The Oppo A57 is a photography-focused smartphone. 

Oppo A57 Specifications and Features

The mid-range smartphone sports a 5.2-inch high definition display with a resolution of 720×1280. It features a metal body and screen with 2.5D curved glass design. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 128GB by using a microSD card. The selfie-based smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

The Oppo A57 packs a 16 megapixels selfie camera along with a 13 megapixels rear camera. The dual-SIM mobile device supports microUSB, Bluetooth, WiFi, and LTE connectivity. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor which comes with a physical home bottom and recognizes Alipay and WeChat payment options. It also packs a 2900 mAh battery and is available in gold and rose fold color.

The Shenzhen-based Oppo is among the top five global smartphone vendors. It shipped 18.5 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2016, according to an IDC report.
