The Sony Xperia Ear is one of the smart products that the Japanese smartphone maker Sony is now trying. It was revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2016. There are other products such as Moto Hint (Hint+ Plus) and Samsung Gear IconX that can be said to fall in the same category.

The Sony Xperia Ear can read messages from the SMS app, Facebook Messenger, and LINE as well as directly reply by voice. It can also read e-mails, although with limited capabilities. It has a 65 mAh battery with a weight of 6.6 grams and Bluetooth 4.1 support.

The Sony Xperia Ear can make a phone call using voice commands like "Call to Teja Office." It would retrieve the information from the user's contacts as it would be paired with the user's smartphone via a proprietary app.

The Xperia Ear has a smooth texture to make it feel comfortable in the ears. It also comes with an earpiece and arc supporter, making it easy to fit inside the ear.

The Xperia Ear application needs to be installed on any device to be paired with the Sony Xperia ear. It allows customization in terms of the startup message and long-press functionality. The Assistant can be activated using the long press.

The Sony Xperia Ear will be available on Amazon, followed by Abt, Fry's, B&H, and other retailers.
