The Google Pixel has an IP53 rating, which implies that while it can survive splashes, it is best to avoid putting it in water unless it is wrapped with a waterproof protective case. YouTube user Craycraft tested the Google Pixel to determine if it is water resistant or not by putting it in a puddle where it spent 30 minutes submerged in water.

According to GSM Arena, despite its IP53 rating, the Google Pixel remained unscathed after its 30-minute submersion. It worked without any issues or signs of water damage at all. The charger and speaker worked well too. To test it further, YouTube user Jonathan Morrison kept the Google Pixel underwater for a whole hour. While the phone survived, the speaker had some issues.

The Google Pixel XL is the bigger variant of the new "Made by Google" phone line. It is worth mentioning that the Pixel got a new record for having the highest mark which DxOMark has ever given out at 89 points. It comes above the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the Sony Xperia X Performance, and the HTC 10 which clocked the previously highest score of 88.

Other specs of the Google Pixel include a 5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD screen and 32 GB or 128 GB of internal storage options. It also comes with a 2,770 mAh battery unit with USB Type-C charging. The Google Pixel XL has received a price tag in the United States; the 32 GB Verizon variant on sale on Best Buy for $744 USD.
