Mysterious cloud formations have been observed hovering above the Bermuda Triangle in the north Atlantic ocean around Florida and Puerto Rico.

These clouds could also reveal some clues about the unusual activity in the region such as mysterious disappearances and paranormal events. But some experts suggest otherwise.

New satellite imagery reveal some bizarre hexagonal clouds across the Bermuda Triangle. However, they are apparently common weather patterns. When cold, dry air mixes on top of warmer water these clouds begin to form.

During late fall and early spring, cloud patterns like these are seen over the north central Atlantic and also the northern Pacific ocean. This new footage is included in a new report by the Science Channel. These cloud patterns are linked to a dangerous atmospheric event known as "air bombs."

These air bombs can apparently create updrafts and downdrafts, where powerful gusts of air going downward to the surface of the ocean can trigger waves as high as 45 feet and winds as strong as 170 miles per hour.

According to Steven Miller of the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere of Colorado State University, these hexagonal cloud formations cannot be blamed for many disappearances and unusual activity in the Bermuda Triangle, since these clouds can occur anywhere in the world.

Miller added that this is a fairly common phenomenon in the world's oceans, especially in regions near the middle to high latitudes during colder seasons.

Still, over the years, there have been many theories linking disappearances in Bermuda, Florida to gas bubbles.
