Nintendo Switch has finally arrived after years of anticipation and speculations.

The portable handheld console also known as Nintendo NX features detachable controllers called Joy-Cons and can be connected to a television set. This would suit gamers who opt to play home-based and online games. The Japanese software and electronic company has not confirmed the high-tech vibration and Wii-style motion sensors under the controller's features.

The Wii U and 3DS successor is the result of the integration of the hardware and handheld divisions of the company.

The confirmed games that can be played on the console powered by Nvidia Tegra technology include The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild, Dragon Quest XI, Project Sonic 2017, and Just Dance 2017. Other games that are likely to be included on the confirmed list are Super Mario, Skyrim Remastered, NBA 2K17, and Splatoon.

Instead of discs, the device will use game cartridges as hinted by the inclusion of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the game list which has a trademark for being cartridge-based.

The Switch's processor carries K1 development kits which are already utilized in other gadgets such as Google Pixel Tablet and Shield Android TV. Unlike PS4 and Xbox One. However, Switch does not promise outstanding visuals due to Tegra's concentration on delivering a power-efficient portable gaming system.

The screen resolution of the device has not yet been disclosed. However, considering the capability of the Tegra X1, it can be assumed that the console will have 1080p visuals.

Nintendo Switch will arrive on the market globally in March 2017.
