Microsoft is expanding the market for its HoloLens headset. The company has announced that the headset can now be pre-ordered for France, Germany, United Kingdom, Australian and New Zealand. The company would start shipping the headset in November.

The price of the Microsoft HoloLens varies in each of the above countries. While customers in the UK will need to shell out the equivalent of $3,335, customers in New Zealand will have to pay the most at $5,527. The headset is priced at $3,633 in Germany, Ireland, and France. It is being sold for $3,308 in Australia. HoloLens was put for sale in the US at the price of $3,000.

Microsoft touts HoloLens as mixed reality gadget which allows users to mashup the real and digital world. The device runs on the Windows Holographic operating system. It operates differently from commercially available VR headsets such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. HoloLens creates augmented reality scenarios by merging virtual and real world.

HoloLens is currently focused on the enterprise market. Among its main customers are businesses such as AirBus and NASA.

Ben Reed, the head of strategy for HoloLens, said that focusing on the enterprise segment will allow the company to build an ecosystem, which may later support the product when it is launched in the consumer market.

Microsoft is also working towards attracting more developers to create applications for the system. The company opened third-party access to Windows Holographic operating system in June this year. It is also looking to collaborate with tech manufacturers to further develop the product.
