Gionee has unveiled the Marathon M5 Lite in India, a month later after its China release. It costs Rs. 12,999 with the large battery smartphone accessible in any of the company's online stores. Notably, the model released in India is packed with a 32GB of internal storage with 3GB RAM.

The Marathon M5 Lite model released in China last December was packed with 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. It costs CNY 999 (about Rs 10,000). It has an expandable storage through microSD card of up to 128GB.

What makes this smartphone unique is its big battery, which bears around 4,000mAh Li-Po. It is rated to deliver up to 3-days of regular usage, 40-hours of talk time, 68-hours of music playback, and 39-days of standby time. The handset can also be used to charge other smartphones.

It has a dual-SIM dual-standby smartphone of 4G LTE connectivity on any Indian supported band and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is packed with a 5-inches IPS HD display with 720x1280P resolution and 293ppi density. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek chip clocked at 1.3 GHz. It has Mali GPU with 1GB RAM. Its internal storage is 16GB that can be expanded up till 128GB using a microSD card slot.

The latest Gionee cellphone offers 5MP on its front camera and 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED-flash and CMOS sensor. It weighs 182 grams and measures 143x69.9x8.5mm. It provides GPS, Wi-FI, Bluetooth 4.0 and MicroUSB connectivity. It also features a proximity sensor, gravity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The handset is made from aviation-grade aluminum alloy.
