The much-awaited Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones have finally arrived in India.

US-based global tech giant Apple on Friday announced the launch of its flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones in India. The California-headquartered company also introduced the Apple Watch Series 2 in India. Apple CEO Tim Cook took to Twitter to thank Indian iPhone fans for making the company's newest smartphones launch a massive success. "Shukriya India and everyone who turned out for Friday's launch of iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2," Cook wrote.

Starting at Rs 60,000 ($900), the expensive Apple smartphones are available in gold, rose gold, silver, and jet black colors.

India's recently launched revolutionary telecom service Reliance Jio is offering free data and calling services worth Rs 18000 (approx. $270) along with iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

"Every customer purchasing a new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus or iPhone SE at Reliance Digital and select APR & AAR will get 12 months of complimentary Jio Digital Services worth over Rs 18,000," the Mukesh Ambani-owned firm said in a statement.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Specifications

The iPhone 7 features a 4.70-inch display while iPhone 7 Plus sports a larger 5.50 screen. The both devices are available in three storage variants - 256GB, 128GB, and 32 GB. Both Apple smartphones come with a 7-megapixel front camera and 12-megapixel rear camera. The iPhone 7 comes with 2GB of RAM while the Plus model features 3GB of RAM. The smartphones, which are powered by dual-core processors, run on the iOS 10 operating system.
