Microsoft elaborated that Azure will not be a "preferred cloud platform" for Adobe, which currently offers three prominent categories; Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Adobe Marketing Cloud. Adobe will also make use of SQL Server as well as of Azure's machine learning services. These services are included in the Microsoft Cortana Intelligence Suite.

Microsoft and Adobe will work on data integration to make it easier for their users to work across the two services. The new collaboration is interesting as Adobe used Amazon Web Services for its services such as Adobe Connect and Adobe LiveCycle.

Microsoft also announced various other collaboration during its Microsoft Ignite event. Its new alliance with Renault-Nissan will see the company provide its expertise to help design autonomous vehicles. Renault-Nissan plans to unveil 10 autonomous vehicles by 2020. The company said that it needs to design more apps.

Microsoft will collaborate with Esri, a GIS platform provider. The alliance will allow Microsoft to integrate Esri's ArcGIS products with its Power BI suite. The users of BI suite will be able to include various Esri features such as spatial analytics and GIS map visualization.
