Google may launch the Daydream VR headset in October.

Earlier this year at the I/O conference, Google unveiled its new VR platform called Daydream. The tech giant released a beta version of the Daydream VR SDK at the conference. Google has announced that the VR SDK is now out of beta testing phase.

There are rumors that Google may launch the Daydream VR headset during its upcoming Oct. 4 event as the company has released a developer kit for the VR SDK.

The developer kit comes with various tools that will allow developers to create mobile VR applications. The kit comes with various features such as high fidelity spatialized audio for better listening experience. It also offers support for integrated asynchronous reprojection allowing for enhanced visual performance.

Google is collaborating with Unity and Unreal to make the process of development easier. The collaboration will allow developers to use various tools and game engines they are already accustomed with. Developers will also be able to use various Unity optimization tools.

Google has provided full documentation, tutorials, and sample apps on its developer site. It also provides a list of requirements concerning the operating system, displays, processors, and sensors. Google has promised a latency of less than 20 milliseconds, which will offer better and more seamless interaction.

Google has also updated its UE4 native integration which will assist the development of better production quality apps. The company has also opened applications to its Daydream Access Program to facilitate interaction and collaboration between different developers. ZTE's Axon 7 is likely to be the first official Daydream VR-compatible smartphone.
