A prank video on YouTube showing a technique to allow users make use of their old headphone jack on the iPhone 7 recently surfaced, causing a stir among netizens.

The video, made by YouTuber TechRax, is named the "Secret Hack To Get Headphone Jack on the iPhone 7." It's a relatively short instructional video that teaches viewers how to drill a hole in Apple's new flagship without destroying it, so that users can successfully use their old headphones to listen to their music.

TechRax said the "video is for those who don't want to get $159 wireless airpods or have to insert your headphones into an adapter every time you listen to music."

The video has been viewed more than 8.3 million times. Here's the video:

Many people apparently fell for the prank video, the Belfast Telegraph reported. Many commenters have voiced their anger at TechRax for fooling them, with some of them saying that they will sue him:

"THANKS BRO, I DESTROY MY IPHONE 7, 700 DOLLARS AT TRASH, THANKS" commented ImperioMagno, one of those who fell for the prank.

Other commenters, however, gave mixed reactions; while some fell bad for those who believed the prank, others made fun of them:

"[T]he amount of people that thought that this is real is worrying for the future of the human race," a user named Michael Wilson wrote.

"I can't believe people fell for this," Jack Harry commented.

A courageous move

Apple decided to ditch the standard headphone jack on the iPhone 7, making it the first smartphone to use wireless headphones as a primary audio accessory. Phil Schiller, Apple marketing chief, said it took some "courage to move on to something new."

As this prank video shows, not everyone is as eager to move on as Apple.
