Google to Hold Special Event on October 4; May Launch Pixel Phones

Google will hold a special event on Oct. 4 in San Francisco. There are rumors that the company may launch its highly-anticipated Pixel phone during the event.

Pixel is likely to replace Google's Nexus brand. The company is developing two Pixel phones.

There are also rumors that Google may introduce an updated version of the Chromecast at the upcoming event. The company may also unveil a new iteration of the Pixel C tablet as well.

According to Android Police, Google may also launch the Daydream VR on Oct. 4. This VR gear will be a massive improvement over the Google Cardbox. It is likely to be in the same price range as the Samsung VR.

Ars Technica reported that Google is said to be working on two Pixel phones. The first phone is expected to sport a 5-inch screen, while the other would have a 5.5-inch screen. The smartphones are likely to be called Pixel and Pixel XL respectively. Google has increased its focus on the hardware segment of its business. The new phones are expected to have Google-exclusive features.

The upcoming Pixel phones will be in the premium category. The 5-inch Pixel phone is expected to come with a price tag of $650, while the Pixel XL will have a steeper price tag.
