UFOs have been at the center of many discussions in the scientific community in the year 2016. Now, there are rumors that US military intelligence division may be taking over the UK's UFO-hunting team from some remote locations in Soho Square, London.

The UK's secretive Ministry of Defence UFO team was axed back in 2008. However, a report published by The Express suggests that it is currently being run by the US military intelligence from the office of one of the leading science fiction producers of all time, the 20th Century Fox.

The team is reportedly now funded by America, and a majority of its operations are carried out by US citizens. However, the UFO-hunting team continues to employ some Britons, who provide guidance by scrutinizing the real-life X-files that exist.

The group is expected to monitor all intergalactic and UFO activities from 7 Soho Square. US officials are said to regularly pay a visit from Washington to look over the progress and see if anything important has been observed.

In an interview with the publication, a military source revealed that a similar unit in the Pentagon wanted to incorporate the UK's UFO's hunting unit, and there was immense pressure from them. He said it was decided to permanently move the unit to London' Soho Square and since then some Americans have become a part of the group.

The official confirmed that the shifting of the unit to a new location was even mistakenly published in the defense ministry's magazine. However, not enough people noticed it. Despite the fact that Pentagon commands over the group, the unit is said to continue to report to Britain's defense ministry.

In addition to X-files, the unit also focuses on the militarization of space and secret UFO investigation done by defense ministry under the project name "Project Condign." The investigation was released back in 2005 under Freedom of Information laws.

According to the researchers, some of the observations made during the project may have been the result of atmospheric plasma that appeared due to certain military applications such as the use of advanced laser weapons. This, in turn, may have caught the US military intelligence's attention and as a result, their interference in the axed project.
