The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is likely to be launched in India soon.

The South Korean tech giant is likely to introduce its popular budget smartphone, the Galaxy J7, to the Indian market soon. A leading Indian telecom retailer on Tuesday confirmed that Samsung would soon launch the Galaxy J7 Prime in India at a price of Rs 18,790 ( approx. $283).

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, an upgraded version of Galaxy J7, comes with a fingerprint censor, a 13megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. It is equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

The dual-SIM device, which comes with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor. It supports Bluetooth v4.1, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS and Wi-Fi and has a 3,300mAH battery. It sports a 5.5-inch full high definition display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The device would be available in pink, gold and white colors.

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime in India launch comes at a time when the South Korean smartphone maker is recalling the Galaxy Note 7 amid reports of device's batteries bursting into flames. The company also delayed the launch of the Galaxy Note 7 in India and sent an official communication to its customers, who had pre-booked the Galaxy Note 7, informing them about the delay. The Galaxy Note 7 was introduced in India in August. Priced at around $900, the device was supposed to go on sale in India on September 2.
