Social Media Site Twitter Debuts On The New York Stock Exchange
Twitter has been subjected to a lot of criticisms for not being able to safeguard users from abuse and harassment on is platform. In response to this, the company has been working on a new keyword filter to keep trolls at bay.
The new filter tool is said to be similar as Instagram's comment blocking tool, which can currently only be accessed by high-profiled users and businesses. Twitter's new tool would allow users to block out tweets which are unpleasant based on belligerently used words.

For several years now, Twitter has found it difficult to implement a solution to the mayhem caused by the platforms basic feature. Currently, anyone is free to post anything they want on Twitter, with no words barred. This feature has led a lot of high-profile users to flee from the platform after being attacked by trolls.
Recently, actress Leslie Jones shut down her account after dealing with sexist and racist attacks.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that it is time for the platform to make abuse and harassment its primary concern. Previously, the company relied on users to report abuse to a specific team that probes on the inquiries. However, given many instances where Twitter has been used to target a lot of high-profiled users, the company's hands-off policy has been subjected to criticisms.
Twitter said it has been working to implement the new feature for about a year now.
According to Twitter, once the filter tool is implemented, it would provide users more control over what they see instead of having to read unwanted tweets.
