There have been several speculations floating around about Google's next flagship device for 2016. Huge competitors such as Samsung and Apple were able to release some of their highly anticipated flagships of the year over the past few months, while Google Nexus took the limelight only recently because of the controversial partnership issues with HTC.

It was reported that Google is talking to HTC about producing the latest Nexus smartphones for 2016, and has not been confirmed nor denied by both parties up to this date. Currently, Nexus 6P is selling impressively because it offers flawless Android experience to its users, but retailers became curious as to when the next Google Nexus flagship will be launched. Amazon, B&H and Best Buy started asking where the rumored latest Nexus phone is. Even eBay has started asking questions because they have already conducted various promo deals for Nexus 5X and 6P since they have heard about the upcoming Nexus phones. However, Google has remained secretive about their upcoming Nexus 2016 phone release.

In accordance to the rumored team up of Google and HTC, added speculations say that the upcoming Nexus phones that will be produced by HTC will be packed with astonishing hardware and software features. It was also reported that the Nexus 2016 phones will support Nexus VR and it will determine hard and light touch gestures on pressure-sensitive displays, according to NFL News.

Talking about specs and features of the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 phone, it was reported that the smartphone will come in two variants. One will come with a 5-inch display and the other with a bigger 5.5-inch display, in reference to the recent gossip released by Evan Blass. According to the famous leaksters @EvLeaks' post on his Twitter account, it appears that HTC is currently working on two projects namely M1 and S1, which is speculated by many as the latest Google Nexus phone. In addition to specs, Nexus 2016 might use the Snapdragon 820 system-on-chip processor powered by Qualcomm, Mobile Choice UK reported.

Another possible fact about the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 phones is that it will use the latest Android software, Android N, which caters split screen mode. The said feature is already working for Android tablets, which enable its users to view two apps all at the same time and will be able to view the homescreen and other apps.
