The Samsung Note series of devices is considered by many tech analysts as one of the most successful in the phablet platform. With regards to this, a handful of rumors and speculations are starting to brew in the tech community about the specs of the upcoming successor to this line of devices, dubbed the Galaxy Note 6.

The most interesting rumor to surface recently claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will support USB Type-C, according to Android Community. Considering the fact that Samsung started to embrace USB Type-C on some of its flagship devices, it is logical to assume that the successor to the Note series will also integrate this feature.

Integrating USB Type-C into the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 could mean that Samsung will also release a new Gear VR headset. The current virtual reality headset from Samsung still uses the microUSB port which could be a bottleneck. Additionally, virtual reality is an important market for Samsung and it will be a surprise if the South Korean tech giant will release a high-end device without compatibility to its VR headset.

Due to the absence of leaked images, not much is known about the specs of design of the Galaxy Note 6. On the other hand, some experts believe that not much will be changed from the previous design of the phablet rather than embracing a comprehensive overhaul.

Some tech analysts believe that the Note 6 will take some design cues from the Galaxy S7. They believe that the Note 6 will be a bigger and more premium version of the Galaxy S7, with the added stylus. Since it is a high-end device, experts believe that Samsung might opt in and have the Note 6 support 4K display with 60Hz refresh rate, according to Android Central.

There are rumors claiming that Samsung is currently testing two models of the Note 6 phablet. One has a flat screen display, while the other one sports an Edge style display. It is believed that Samsung will only release one of these two models, and many tech analysts strongly agree that Samsung will pick the one with the curved display since this design cue has become Samsung's signature over its past few flagship devices.
