Its model number is mentioned as XT-1650. The Moto X Style (aka Moto X Pure Edition 2015) has a model number of XT-1575. Since the new flagship sports a similar model number as last year's flagship, speculations indicate that the XT-1650 belongs to the upcoming Moto X (2016), Phone Arena reported. The single-core score of Moto X (2016) on GeekBench is 2309. It has scored 5344 on multi-core test.

The alleged Moto X (2016) is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It features a quad-core processor and Adreno 530 graphics. The smartphone is expected to come in storage choices of 32 GB and 64 GB. It will arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Rumors suggest that the Moto X (2016) would be official with "Moto X3" moniker. Earlier this month, a smartphone with Moto X3 moniker was found listed on Zauba, a website from India that maintains a database of imports and exports to and from the country. Since Zauba has previously revealed accurate names of forthcoming devices, it is expected that the upcoming Motorola flagship will be official as Moto X3, International Business Times reported.

All the previous Moto X series flagships feature polycarbonate construction. However, speculations indicate that the Moto X3 will be arriving with a metal unibody chassis.

A leaked photo of the alleged smartphone that had appeared in December 2015 revealed that backside features a bigger cutout for the rear-facing camera.  It indicates that it will be arriving with an enhanced camera.  It will be enabled with a dual-tone flash.

The Motorola Moto X (2016) release date is speculated as June 9. Rumors suggest that the final version of Android N will be released in July. Hence, there are miniscule chances of it arriving with Android N OS. Moreover, the operating system is pegged to get showcased at the Google I/O 2016 event that will be held in May. Motorola is also rumored to launch Moto G4 and Moto E (2016) codename as Affinity to launch on June 9.
