Wine drinkers already have smart glasses and pitchers, and now an intelligent wine dispenser on Kickstarter keeps red and white varieties fresh and ready to pour. The Somm wine dispenser on the crowdfunding site stores containers of wine that hold about three standard bottles worth of the alcoholic drink. This gadget can even learn people's favorite varieties and make suggestions, while the mobile app tells users how much of each type of fermented grape juice is left in the container.

The smart dispenser can make better suggestions based on the amount of wine that it has discharged. This is a good excuse to have a glass of wine with dinner, which can provide several benefits including lower blood pressure.

Somm sits on countertops and includes containers called Sylos that hold 2.25 liters of wine. It also chills the beverage perfectly and includes a function to aerate (add air) red wines, according to Slash Gear.

Another major benefit of Somm is that it is also easy to use. Its handle makes it simple to change the wine dispenser's flow rate, and the Sylo makes it easy to swap wines without allowing leftover beverages to go bad. Somm is available in stainless steel, dark oak, and beachwood finishes.

Somm is seeking $100,000 on Kickstarter and has raised a little more than that figure with about a month to go. A $199 pledge gets wine lovers a Somm unit delivered by November 2016. Meanwhile, the Sylo wines will have a starting price of $15 per container, but not all wines will be available to all states through mail.

In related news, Kuvee recently introduced the world's first smart wine bottle. The device keeps the beverage fresh for a month and lets wine connoisseurs choose a drink from a restaurant wine list.

Kuvee's smart wine bottle is now available for pre-order at the company's website. A limited-time promotion is offering a Kuvee Bottle and hand-picked wines worth $39 for a slashed price of $179.

The company also announced on March 28 that it has raised $6 million in venture funding from various investors, according to Market Wired. Kuvee reports that the wine industry is growing faster in the US than any other region in the world, and where its wine lovers' live is also changing quickly.
