PlayStation Vue is going to be Sony's latest alternative for Cable TV. Sony is not the only company in the quest as the likes of Apple have been trying to do this for years with an Internet-based TV delivery service model to take on cable. Sony seems to have outpaced Apple on this front.

Sony has decided to cut down on price, increase on device support and addition of new channels with Vue, which will be a second option when compared with the Sling TV. Interestingly, Vue has always leaded the competition with better service, features and channels. Cloud DVR being one such feature is available in few selected cities in the U.S.

According to Madd apple, at a price of $30 for 50 channels, which includes the likes of NBC, Fox, CBS and ABC, the Slim nationwide package of Sony has made PlayStation Vue a better option to Sling TV at the moment. Interestingly, PlayStation hardware will not be needed to use this service. Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast, iPads and iPhones are some of the devices that will carry this feature. Sony will list down many more devices in the future to support PlayStation Vue. Android and Roku apps, on the other hand, will play this service but Apple TV may not support this service.

According to Tech Radar, a broadband Internet connection will be required by the user to use PlayStation Vue. Unfortunately, a few key channels, like some local channels and sports channels, are not seen on Vue, but with lucrative low cost packages, Vue seems to make sense financially.

Ease of using, null additional cost, no rented equipment cost and better service are what differentiate Sony PlayStation Vue from other Internet-based TV service providers. Vue needs 10MBPS broadband Internet connection and can connect at least 5 TV's from a single account.

Channel access for channels like PBS, BBC America, CSPAN and NFL Red Zone will still be an issue, as these are not available on Vue or Sling, but only on traditional cable services. But all in all, PlayStation Vue is set to change the future of TV viewing and seems to be the best in its league.
