As expected, there will be several new gear for those who are interested in firing the latest weapons and wearing the newest armor. This is what Destiny is all about, the loot, and this new update will bring it in abundance.

Here's the kicker, the April update is free for anyone who bought The Taken King. Apparently, players won't have to pay for an expensive season pass when compared to 2015. During that time, Bungie was being aggressive in making that paper, but it now seems the developer has toned it down a little bit.

Here's what to expect from the April update:

  • New PVE Challenges
  • New and Updated Gear
  • New Quest featuring the Blighted Chalice Strike
  • Increased Max Light and Rewards
  • Sandbox and Crucible Updates
  • And more...

Bungie stated that it will release more information every Wednesday going forward until the update is near release.

"For the next three Wednesdays, we'll be providing more details on Twitch. Join us as we introduce you to some of the designers and artists to chat with them about what they've packed into the update. If you want to be part of the live conversation, bookmark our channel," according to Bungie in a blog post.

We'll be tuning in on Twitch whenever the developer goes live to share more information about the April update. We're sure it will contain goodies that will get the most hardcore Destiny players excited for the future of the game.

The big question right now, is whether or not a Destiny 2 will be ready before the end of the generation.
