The design of the Apple iPhone 6C has been revealed through 3D renders created by a well-known designer as well as through images of a dummy unit.

The purported Apple iPhone 6C is one of the most awaited smartphones of 2016. Ferry Passchier has designed 3D photos of the iPhone 6C. The designer has shown the handset wearing metallic chassis. Hence, it appears similar to the metal-clad iPhone 6 from 2014 and iPhone 6S from 2015, 9 to 5 Mac reported.

Rumors indicate that the Apple iPhone 6C will be an upgraded version of iPhone 5S. The 4-inch iPhone 6C is expected to be available in multiple color options like the plastic-clad iPhone 5C.

The metal-clad iPod Touch (sixth generation) was launched in September in five colors such as blue, pink, silver and gray. The iPhone 6C 3D renders by Passchier shows the smartphone in an additional color of rose gold like the newly released iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

The design of the purported iPhone 6C has been also revealed through the leaked photos of a prototype model. The design of the dummy unit resembles the handset in 3D renders, Digit reported.

Apple has not revealed any information on the existence of the iPhone 6C, but the rumor mill has been consistently spilling beans on its specs, features and design.

The iPhone 6C will be a small-sized phone with a 4-inch display. It will be fueled by the Apple A9 SoC that powers the newly released iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones. The chipset will be accompanied by 2 GB of RAM.

It will be arriving with an inbuilt storage of 16 GB. The Home button will include a fingerprint scanner.  The rear is expected to sport an 8 MP iSight camera. The handset will be packed with a battery of 1642 mAh capacity.

The Apple iPhone 6C is speculated to have entered production phase this month. Hence, it is expected to get unveiled in March 2016 alongside slew of other Apple products such as iPad Air 3 and Apple Watch 2.

The iPhone 6C that is likely to get unveiled in March is also expected to be available for buying by April this year. Rumors are rife that it will be costing around $400 to $500.
