According to the announcement of Sony Mobile UK, the Android 6.0 software upgrade with build number 32.1.A.1.1.163 is now available for the global variants of the aforementioned smartphones. It also includes the security patches for the previous month, Xperia Blog reported.

One needs to be aware of the fact that the update does not carry adoptable storage support which means that users will not be able to use an additional microSD for more storage. Also, the STAMINA mode is not available in the new build. However, it is likely to be available in the upcoming firmware update.

The Japanese tech giant had released the Sony Xperia Z3+ as well as the Xperia Z4 Tablet at the beginning half of the last year. Both the devices arrived with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS onboard.

The single and dual SIM variants with respective model numbers of E653 and E6533 are now getting updated to Android 6.0. On the other side, the Wi-Fi only and LTE variants of the Xperia Z4 Tablet with respective model numbers of SGP12 and SGP771 are getting the latest Android firmware.

Both Sony Xperia Z3+ as well as the Xperia Z4 Tablet are available unlocked through numerous retailers such as Amazon. It means these GSM devices are not available for purchase through the carriers of the U.S. In the U.S., the Xperia Z3+ smartphone is priced around $400 whereas the Xperia Z4 Tablet costs around $600, Phone Arena reported.

In October last year, Sony had started the Xperia Beta Program for two devices, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact and in the previous month it also included the Xperia Z2 smartphone. The owners of these smartphones can test the latest Android build in its beta edition and provide feedback to the developers. Rumors are rife that the beta program will soon come to an end and the Android 6.0 will be soon hitting all the users of Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2.
