A headless, hulking, robotic dog that is twice the size of any breed of dog, circles around a terrified pooch in the parking lot of Google's robotics company, Boston Dynamics, as this robo dog known as Spot is introduced to Alex, the terrier. Watch the video here.

Engineers at Boston Dynamics first revealed this electronically powered quadruped robot earlier last year. Spot is remote controlled, that weighs about 160 pounds as it also possesses sensors on its head for navigation and can haul around anything weighing 40 pounds. It also has the ability to stand up after being knocked down on its side by some cruel humans.

The terrified pooch is Alex, who is also the official mascot of the Android team and belongs to co-founder of Android, Andy Rubin, who also currently leads the tech startup, Playground Global.  Alex barks loudly, clearly disturbed by the robotic presence of an artificial dog, as he also appears to herd and surround Spot. 

This video went viral when it was posted on Youtube by venture capitalist, Steve Jurvetson. During the duration of the video, a woman asks the person controlling Spot to be careful, and off camera someone says, robot takes out Andy Rubin's dog, that would not be good. The dystopian robotic dog's operator responds by saying he is actually trying to keep Spot at a safe distance from Alex.

After an awkward confrontation and much barking at the silent machine dog, Alex makes it out unharmed, as he might even believe that he won this "battle". Rubin says in a tweet, best board meeting ever?, after watching the video of his beloved dog, which indicates he is not that mad. Jurvetson calls this incident "uncanny uncanine valley".

Naturally, if Spot shows up in any dog's territory unannounced, and began moving around in circles in a very unpredictable manner, any dog, big or small, will be definitely freaked out. However, Boston Dynamics main goal here is that this dog is not meant to be for walking but rather for military operations.
