According to Forbes, the Microsoft Surface Phone did not appear at this year's Mobile World Congress.

The Microsoft Surface Phone have been the subject of several tech speculations since it is going to be the flagship smartphone of tech giant Microsoft. Additionally, it is also the first smartphone to run on the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft's universal platform.

Tech experts believe that the Lumia 650 would be the last Lumia device to be hit the market. However, Microsoft decided to continue the brand with the announcement of the Lumia 750 and Lumia 850. The two devices are expected to hit the market sometime this month.

Some reports claim that Microsoft is not entirely killing the Lumia brand. Instead, the brand will be relegated into the mid- and lower-tiered market. Whereas the Surface Phone will be Microsoft's flagship device in the premium market and will go head-to-head against Apple's iPhone and some top-tiered Android devices.

Not much was revealed about the Microsoft Surface Phone. The tech community is in the dark regarding the phone's features and specs.

However, there are rumors claiming that the Surface Phone will have an Intel Atom X3 processor which will be integrated into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, according to Vine Report. Additional hardware specs include a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution.

Since the Microsoft Surface Phone will be released in the high-end market, there is a big possibility that the device will have 4GB of RAM, a hardware spec that has become a standard for most premium billed devices. Storage will be available in 64GB or 128GB variants. Whether or not the Surface Phone will support expandable storage through memory cards is still debatable.

The Surface brand from Microsoft was one a dominant brand in the tablet market. However, it was pushed out of the competition following the release of the iPad Pro.

Regarding the Surface Phone's release date, experts estimate that it will hit the market sometime in October.
