Huawei launched its Honor 5X budget smartphone in November 2015 to gain rave reviews, as it is considered a killer smartphone that is packed with enormous specs at an affordable price of US$199 (around Rs. 16,667).

Honor 5X is a 5.5 inch screen phone offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. GS Marena mentions that the smartphone is backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset with options of either 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM. It offers 16 GB internal storage with expandable memory capacity of up to 128 GB. Paste Magazine recommends Honor 5X for its sturdy hardware, rear mounted fingerprint scanner and a reliable 13 MP primary camera.

Besides above specs, Honor 5X packs a range of features that make it immensely user-friendly. Following is a list of few tips and tricks to get an effective use out of these features.

For those users who often misplace their smartphone, Honor 5X allows one to insert a "If found" message to one's lock screen. This increases probability that a misplaced phone finds its way back to its owner.

Honor 5X has a fingerprint sensor that not just unlocks phone but also allows users to launch apps or call contacts. Phandroid suggests adding app and contacts shortcuts to one's Fingerprint ID to use this feature.

It is also recommended that users need to remove the screen guard placed on phone's display. This is because the plastic screen guard leads to accumulation of oil and grease on phone's display, so users could either choose to remove the screen guard or opt for a glass case instead.

Users could also manually adjust the display settings on their Honor 5X phone and opt for warmer images during nighttime and brighter settings during the day.

According to numerous reviews, Honor 5X also allows users to block specific apps from using their data allowance. Experienced users could use this facility to block access to their information, when same is not required.
