Fans of the widely popular mobile game "Clash of Clans" will be pleased to know that the game's developer, Supercell, is planning to release a major update in April. The update will add new troops and a slew of new features in order to expand the gameplay.

Supercell's confirmation of an upcoming update put rumors to rest claiming that the game will be discontinued come Feb. 29. Supercell answered some fan speculations posted on Facebook stating, "Sounds like an early April fools... In fact we're working on the next update and we also have cool plans for the next BIG feature, so stay tuned and Clash On!!"

On that regard, some fans are suggesting that Supercell introduced the Muskeeter unit into the game to which the developer answered that it is working on a new troop, but not the Musketeer from "Clash Royale."

"Clash Royale" is a popular spin-off of the "Clash of Clans" mobile game. The game was released after Supercell released the "Clash of Clans" developer API which gave way for third-party developers to create their own twist on the game. The game is exclusively available to selected regions including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Iceland and Finland.

There are speculations claiming that Supercell is considering upgrading the current Town Hall level cap of 11. For some fans, it is a plausible scenario since Supercell is introducing a new troop and it makes sense to upgrade the Town Hall in order to unlock it.

Gamers are also expecting Supercell to introduce a new Dark Elixir unit for Town Hall 10, according to Neurogadget. In the last update, Supercell introduced the Grand Warden and the Eagle Artillery.

Supercell has yet to confirm when the new update will be officially rolled out. The only hint gamers have right now is that the update will be released sometime in April.

On a similar note, Supercell recently imposed a server maintenance in order to upgrade its server and to fix some reported bugs. The server maintenance took place on Feb. 15. Some gamers were left disappointed after learning that the server break was just a maintenance routine and not the official roll out of the highly-anticipated update.
