Oculus Unveils Oculus Rift Ready PC Bundles From Dell, Alienware, Asus

Top VR headsets generating maximum heat so far are HTC's Vive, Facebook's Oculus Rift and Sony's PlayStation VR.

Oculus announced on Feb. 9 that is it partnering up with three desktop hardware manufacturers in creating Oculus Ready desktop computers. The companies are Asus, Alienware and Dell. The three companies will manufacture Oculus certified machines that can deliver immersive Oculus Rift experience.

In a statement posted on Oculus' official website, the company wrote, "We're also thrilled to announce that starting February 16 at 8am Pacific Time, you can pre-order Oculus Ready PC and Rift bundles from Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store, starting at $1499 USD for a limited time only."

According to Wired, all the bundles will include and Oculus-certified PC and the whole Oculus Rift package which includes the virtual reality headset, remote, sensor, an Xbox One controller, a copy of "Lucky's Tale!" and "EVE: Valkyrie Founder's Pack."

The entry level Oculus-certified PC is from Dell which costs $1199, and will be offered for $999 only for a limited time. The Dell XPS 8900 SE has an Intel Core i5-6400 CPU, an Nvidia 970 graphics card, 8GB of DDR4 memory and 1TB of storage space.

ASUS has three available models. An ASUS G11CD and two ASUS ROG G20CB. The ASUS G11CD has an the specs as the Dell XPS 8900 SE but costs less for only $1049, $949 with limited time discount.

The higher-end ASUS ROG G20CB has a regular price of $1699 and $1559 when discounted. It has an Intel i7-6700 CPU, an Nvidia 980 graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a 256GB SSD with 1TB HDD storage combo.

The other ASUS ROG G20CB model costs $1349 when discounted and has a regular price of $1449. It has an Intel i5-6400 CPU, Nvidia 970 graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD storage option.

Alienware also has three desktop models. The Alienware Area 51 has a regular price of $2549 and a discounted price of $2349. It has an Intel i7-5820K CPU, Nvidia 980 graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 128GB SSD with 2TB HDD storage combo.

Just like ASUS, Alienware has two variants of the Alienware X51 R3 model. First is the $1199 model which has an Intel i5-6400 CPU, Nvidia 970 graphics cards, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB HDD storage option. Its discounted price is $999.

The higher-end Alienware X51 R3 has an Intel i5-6400 CPU, Nvidia 970 graphics cards, 16GB of DDR4 memory and 250GB SSD storage option. Its regular price is $1499 but will be available for $1299 for a limited time only.
