It was quiet strange from Lenovo to launch the K5 Note just after two weeks from the launch of the K4 Note. The K4 Note was also a success like its predecessor K3 Note, which is the most sold phone from Lenovo till date. Lenovo, to everyone's surprise launched the K5 Note with slight modification from the previous model, and people are still expecting the arrival of their pre-ordered K4 Note.

Samsung, on the other hand, launched a lot of phones last year under A, E and J series, and most of them were commercially successful too. Samsung launched the original J5 last year and was accepted by all because of its fresh design and superior build quality. The Korean manufacturer so decided to re-launch the phone with a little refresh to the specs for 2016.

Lenovo K5 Note leads the spec sheet with 5.5-inch full HD LPTS IPS LCD touchscreen with 401 ppi density and a superior processor. The Lenovo K5 Note also sports an octa-core Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. K5 Note also has 2GB RAM under the hood. When it comes to camera, Lenovo K5 Note has a 16MP primary camera with face detection autofocus, and a 5MP shooter for selfies. Storage capacity is set on 16 GB internal storage that supports up to 128GB via microSD card. It also holds a fingerprint sensor for easy access and for the smartphone's security.

Samsung has also modified the previous generation J5 with a Super AMOLED touchscreen of 720 x 1280 pixels. The processor, however, is an entry level - Snapdragon 410 chipset. The camera configuration of the phone is a price worthy, sporting a 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie shooter.

Lenovo K5 Note may be available for $169 with two color options - silver and gold, Samsung J5 is expected to be launched for $179 by the first quarter of 2016.
