Next to the iPhone 8, rumors on the OnePlus 5 came in torrents in the past days and provided the juicy details on the big questions regarding the device. When exactly is the release date and what are the new things to expect? And what will cost to own the 2017 version of the touted flagship killer?

While it remains unclear if the OP5 will have a 5.3-inch or 5.5-inch screen display, WCCFTech said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has practically confirmed the device will unpack with 1080p screen resolution, debunking the earlier speculations that the Chinese device maker is 2K for the new handset.

It was suggested in the same report that the industrial design that will be in use for the OnePlus 5 is yet to be finalized, at least per the details already available. Leaked information pointed to an all-metal build or the design language employed in the past models but per WCCFTech the possibility remains that the metal-glass combo will be used, purportedly in support of the OP5's built-in wireless charging capability.

On the camera side, it seems a done deal that the handset will get the dual camera treatment that made the Samsung Galaxy S8 even more desirable and is also expected as one of the Apple iPhone 8's headline features. But the question is how exactly the implementation will be?

BGR offered an answer on its report: the OnePlus 5 rear camera will come out in nearly the same arrangement as the iPhone 7 Plus - in horizontal orientation and not vertical as earlier reported. But this one, the report conceded, is far from confirmed.

And it appears the same way as far as the device launch date is concerned. Earlier, a teaser poster has suggested that OnePlus 5 unveiling will happen June 15 but a follow up hint is now saying the actual release date will happen five days after. That means buyers will only get hold of the Android-based starting June 20, and that likely only applies for mainland China.

As for the pricing, there were suggestions that due to premium hardware - Snapdragon 835 chip, 8GB RAM support and 128GB of internal memory to name a few, to unbox with the device the starting price will be significantly higher than the previous versions, at $650. However, supposedly to maintain its flagship killer status the OnePlus 5 will retail for no more than $450 a pop.
