When word leaked out that Chinese hacking group Pangu might just release a jailbreak to be based on iOS 10.3 and 10.3.1 firmware versions, it was suggested the rollout will greatly depend on how iOS 10.3.2 will turn out. The rumored Pangu jailbreak remains out of sight and it might be because 10.3.2 is packed with jailbreak-killing security fixes.

Ars Technica decided to dig deeper on the latest iOS release from Apple and concluded it contains no less 24 bug fixes that potentially might have killed the exploits Team Pangu was working on to come up with an iOS 10.3 jailbreak. As reported earlier, the China-based hackers were waiting out for 10.3.2 to be finalized to check if the release will not include patches that will close down the jailbreak window they used to poke around.

And since iOS 10.3.2 has been in circulation for some time now, it can be assumed that Apple has once again slammed the door on Team Pangu. It appeared the same thing happened back in July 2016 when the Chinese devs showed off a jailbroken iOS 10, then unreleased, running on iOS 10. It was believed then that an iOS 10 jailbreak will be made available soon after the official software release but nothing of sort happened. It looked like Apple outsmarted the hackers.

And it seems to be the same case now, indicating the rumored Pangu iOS 10.3 jailbreak is not going to happen, at least not until a new exploit is detected. That opening might be afforded by security researcher Adam Donenfeld, who had earlier revealed that firmware 10.3.1 have KPP exploits that have been patched with the iOS 10.3.2 release except for one.

This same kernel privilege escalation exploit, Donenfeld said, will be made public and the security researcher said it will be up to developers out there to make a jailbreak. The KPP exploit revelation was scheduled August and that means there could be an iOS 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 jailbreak solution to come out soon after, provided there will be hackers to pick up on the Donenfeld-provided exploit.

So hopefully, Team Pangu will check out the jailbreak opening, continue with what they have already started and make the iOS 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak release happen. Or maybe other jailbreak makers will do the honors and the names that easily come to mind - iH8sn0w, TaiG and Yalu creator Luca Todesco.
