Even though the release date for "The Last of Us Part 2" remains unsettled, the rumor mills continue to rise. There are reports coming about that the teasers have revealed of the possible death and rejection storyline. However, Naughty Dog has remained mum on the matter.

A former report from the "The Last of Us Part 2" conveyed of the rumors that Joel might possibly be dead in "The Last of Us 2" and the latest plot theory now is that Ellie may now be experiencing the side effects of her immunity against the Cordyceps Brain Infection (CBI), causing her to hallucinate.

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 already happening next month, and Naughty Dog suspected to drop the latest information on "The Last of Us 2" at the forthcoming event, it is but inevitable for those anticipating the game to talk about it even more and float possible theories that may turn true or otherwise, reports the same post.

On a different note, while "The Last of Us" stars Joel as the game's main playable protagonist, someone has modded the game to swap Joel with Tess the upcoming sequel of the game will take place several years after the first title and center around Ellie, who is now 19 years old, the report added.

The release date is rumored for 2018, but that remains to be seen. For the rumors being linked to "The Last of Us," everything should be taken with a grain of salt in mind.
