The huge May 2017 Update for "Battlefield 1" has just been released across all platforms. It optimizes gameplay experiences, game balancing, Premium Friends, and tons of changes.

According to DICE, they received a lot of feedback from gaming fans particularly on the matchmaking into Operations mode and as a result, they made adjustments to help mitigate getting matched to an empty server.

One of the biggest changes is the return of Premium Friends, where it allows people to share their Premium subscription with those whom they are playing with.

Some of the fixes in map and modes include the missing game mode description for Operations and the spectator camera that does not show from the map on Frontlines, Verdun, and Soissons. Both issues are now fixed.

A Spectator Mode bug is also fixed, where the first-person camera would stuck during the Pigeon Carrier Artillery camera sequence on the Assault Tank. Lots of tweaks with vehicles in "Battlefield 1" arrived with the update, such as the self-repair for A7V, FT17, Pierce Arrow and St. Chamond.

The attack plane elevator flap scaling curve is now retuned, so that its turning will now be much closer to that of Fighters. However, it is still not fully fixed, as the note says that it is "still slightly worse."

In more news, the next multiplayer component in the DLC for "Battlefield 1" will be introducing female soldier class from the Russian army.  The DLC titled In the Name of the Tsar was recently revealed through the game's official Twitter that it will showcase the Russian Scout class, specifically the fierce Women's Battalion of Death.

The all-female combat unit that was formed in 1917 with about 300 soldiers was led by Maria Leontevna "Yashka" Bochkareva was created in real life a few months after the February Revolution.

This addition to "Battlefield 1" may come as a surprise to the games as creative director Lars Gustavsson said last year that they will not feature female soldiers in multiplayer. However, some fans believe that he may be referring only to the content of the main game.

In the Name of the Tsar is expected to launch in August for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned to more news and updates on "Battlefield 1".
