New 'Injustice 2' Multiverse Mode Event Will Feature 'Wonder Woman' Movie Gear; Red Hood Trailer Streamed Online [VIDEOS]

The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature Red Hood trailer debut and a "Wonder Woman" movie gear for this week's multiverse mode event.

NetherRealm Studios official streamed the Red Hood character trailer in "Injustice 2" as Jason Todd faces three Batman characters Robin, the Joker and the Dark Knight himself.

According to the characters official bio, Jason Todd like the comics is Batman's second protege, but was brutally murdered at the hands of the Joker. Jason was brought back to life by the Lazarus Pit, but it came with a heavy price. Now, Jason takes on the Joker's old identity, the Red Hood as his own and uses a more lethal method of fighting crime.

As seen in the trailer, Red Hood in "Injustice 2" attacks at long-to-mid range as uses a variety of weapons such as his signature pistols, shurikens, explosive grenades and tasers.

Red Hood is part of the first DLC pack for "Injustice 2" joining Starfire and "Mortal Kombat" fighter Sub-Zero. Jason can be unlocked in a number of ways with the game's Digital Deluxe Edition being the first at $79.99 on the PSN and Xbox Live.

The second is the "Injustice 2" Ultimate Edition worth $99.99 and it will include include a total of nine playable characters; three Premiere Skins that transform select fighters into alternate characters with new looks, voices and dialogue; and two exclusive new Gear Shaders that enable players to customize the look of their roster with alternate color themes, ComicBook reported.

Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios announced a new multiverse mode event this week and players will have a chance to gain a new character gear inspired by the "Wonder Woman" movie.

The "Wonder Woman multiverse challenge will start on May 29 until June 5. While it is unknown yet what kind of stats or effects will the "Wonder Woman" movie themed gear will have on the character, players will be eager to find out once they have finished every challenge in the event.

The gear can still be available after the event, via luck of the draw in Mother Boxes, Gamerant reported.

"Injustice 2" is currently available for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
